Delete your account
Lift X is an app by Alute Media. This page explains how to delete your Lift X account and the data stored with it, from inside the app or without it.
In the app
Open Lift X and go to Profile, then Account, then "Delete account", and confirm. Your account is deleted straight away. It cannot be undone.
Without the app
Email contact@alutemedia.com with the subject "Delete my Lift X account", from the email address your account uses, or tell us your Lift X username if you signed up with Apple's "Hide My Email". We may ask a question to check that the account is yours. We will delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email once it is done.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes all of the following from our servers, at once:
- your account and sign-in details: your email address, your password if you have one (it is only ever stored in hashed form), and the link to your Apple or Google sign-in;
- your cloud backup and its safety copy: your workouts, cardio sessions, nutrition and water logs, sleep records, daily steps, bodyweight, routines, goals, ranks, settings, and your profile, including your name and date of birth;
- your username;
- your friendships and any friend requests you sent or received;
- your leaderboard row, which your friends see on the leaderboard and on your friend page: your overall score, rank, and rank tier, the number of workouts you have logged and the sessions this week, your streaks, the date of your last workout, a score and rank for each muscle group and for each axis of your performance radar, and which figure your muscle map is drawn on;
- your invite code.
When you delete your account in the app, the Lift X data on that phone is erased as well. If you ask us by email, we delete everything on our servers; to remove the data on your phone, uninstall the app.
If you want a copy first, use Export my data in Profile before you delete.
What is kept, and for how long
- Purchase records. Apple or Google, and our subscription provider RevenueCat, keep records of purchases under their own policies and the law on accounting records (typically 7 years). RevenueCat holds them under an anonymous install ID that is not linked to your Lift X account.
- Usage figures. The small set of usage figures described in the privacy policy is held by RevenueCat under that same anonymous install ID. Because it is not linked to your account, deleting your account does not remove it, and we cannot find it from your account. If you have made a purchase, send us the order number from your Apple or Google receipt and we can find that record and delete it. Without a purchase the record cannot be matched to you, by us or by anyone else.
- Crash reports. Reports the app sent to Sentry when it crashed contain no account identifiers and cannot be matched to you. Sentry keeps them for up to 90 days.
- Emails we sent you. Our email provider, Resend, keeps its own record of account emails (a password-reset code, a security notice) for 30 days.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Supabase, keeps technical logs of requests for up to 7 days, after which they are deleted automatically.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought from: on iPhone in Settings, under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions; on Android in the Play Store app under Payments and subscriptions.
Deleting some data and keeping the account
You can delete individual workouts, cardio sessions, meals, and other entries in the app at any time; the change reaches your backup shortly afterwards. To stop sharing your leaderboard row with someone, remove them as a friend. To remove everything, delete the account.
